Urban underground pipeline network renewal serves as a critical support for ensuring people’s livelihood and boosting economic development, as well as a vital measure for urban disaster prevention and mitigation. In recent years, green and low-carbon trenchless pipeline rehabilitation technology has witnessed historic development. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) estimates that nearly 600,000 kilometers of urban gas, Potable water/drainage, heating and other pipelines will require renovation over the next five years, with a total investment demand of approximately 4 trillion RMB. China’s urban development has entered a stage where both incremental construction and stock renewal are prioritized, and urban renovation and renewal tasks will become increasingly heavy in the coming period.
To further advance China’s pipeline engineering and trenchless undertakings, guarantee construction quality, promote the research and application of advanced technologies, equipment and materials, and facilitate the integration of industry, academia and education in trenchless technology, and in light of the large-scale promotion of urban renewal in Liaoning Province and the strong demand for new pipeline inspection and rehabilitation technologies in Northeast China, the Organizing Committee has decided to hold the 2026 China-Europe Academic Conference on Pipeline Engineering and Trenchless Rehabilitation Technology – Liaoning Provincial Municipal Industry Promotion Conference on Pipeline Engineering and Trenchless Rehabilitation Technology.
This conference was co-hosted by the Liaoning Provincial Municipal Industry Association, Shenyang Jianzhu University, Tianjin University of Science and Technology and other institutions. It brought together top experts, scholars and enterprise representatives from the global pipeline engineering and trenchless rehabilitation field to discuss technological innovation and the industry’s future in the context of urban renewal. As one of the co-hosts, Pro-liner had deeply participated in this grand event, showcasing its core strengths in the field of UV-CIPP rehabilitation.

During the technical presentation session, Li Fangjun, Pro-liner General Manager, delivered a keynote speech titled "Empowering Urban Renewal: Strengthening the Foundation of Potable Water Safety and Resilience Through UV-CIPP Technological Innovation.".

Against the backdrop of the ongoing urban renewal initiative, the report conducted an in-depth discussion on the pivotal role of potable water pipeline networks in advancing new-type urbanization. Li Fangjun pointed out that as the "arteries" sustaining urban operations, the safety and resilience of potable water pipeline networks were directly tied to the wellbeing of the general public.
By continuously driving the iterative innovation of potable water UV-CIPP technology, Pro-liner has extended trenchless rehabilitation technology from the traditional drainage sector to the potable water field. we aim to provide more reliable and efficient solutions for the structural renewal of aging potable water pipeline networks, and build a resilient foundation for urban potable water safety through technological innovation.
To offer conference participants a more intuitive understanding of the technology’s advancement, Pro-liner arranged an on-site demonstration of the UV curing process during the conference.
At the demonstration venue, technical staff simulated the entire workflow, ranging from liner inversion/pull-in, inflation expansion, to UV light train traversal and curing. Through hands-on operations, the participants gained a clear insight into the construction procedures, key control points, and curing effects of the UV-CIPP process.
During the demonstration, the liner was cured rapidly under UV light, forming a high-strength new lined pipe. Its high operational efficiency and consistent forming quality were highly praised by the observing guests. This session not only demonstrated the excellent compatibility between Pro-liner’s equipment and liners, but also strengthened the confidence of industry clients in the practical application of trenchless rehabilitation technology.
