On February 16th, 2023, the unveiling ceremony of the Joint Research Center for Trenchless Engineering Materials between Pro-liner and the college of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Hefei University of Technology was held.

The Chairman of Pro-liner introduced our basic situation, analyzed the current development of trenchless pipeline repair technology in the industry and the talent demand of enterprises, and hoped that the newly established Trenchless Engineering Materials Joint Research Center would take the research of advanced composite materials as the starting point to achieve the goal of technological progress in trenchless pipeline repair, and achieve a win-win situation in technology research and development, talent cultivation, and other aspects. He also expressed his best wishes for cooperation between the two parties.

Secretary Qin stated that the establishment of the Joint Research Center marks a new chapter in the cooperation between Pro-liner and Hefei University of Technology in industry university research. Taking this signing as an opportunity, Hefei University of Technology will further strengthen communication and exchange, promote the coordinated development of industry university research, promote the birth and application of more practical technologies, serve the social economy, and integrate academia with practice more closely. He also gave high praise to Pro-liner, hoping that through this signing, the college can broaden its research areas and enhance its core competitiveness.

Secretary Zhang of the Concentration Zone stated that the strong alliance between Pro-liner and Hefei University of Technology is conducive to the research and development of both parties, and hopes that the cooperation results of both sides will be implemented in the Concentration Zone; The government of the concentrated area will fully support the development of the Joint Research Center and provide thoughtful services for it.

After the unveiling ceremony, the attending leaders visited the exhibition hall, production workshop, and laboratory of Pro-liner Company, and had discussions on issues related to the university's service to the local economy, enterprise innovation and development, center construction, industry university research, etc. The focus was on how to utilize their respective advantages in talent, technology, equipment, industry resources, and brand to form strong alliances and interdisciplinary integration, so as to make the joint research center operate efficiently and have a high input-output ratio. They also discussed a series of technical problems that currently affect the development of the trenchless engineering materials industry, such as the urgent need to explore pre-treatment technology, the large space for improvement of domestic high-level membrane materials, and the need to improve the adaptability of resins to groundwater.
